Hospice care is designed to provide comfort and support to patients and their families when a life limiting illness can no longer be treated or no longer responds to a curative treatment. Hospice does not prolong life or hasten death, but focuses instead on quality of life while patients are going through their end of life journey. The goal of Unity Care Hospice is to provide support, comfort and guidance. With the input of your physician and loved ones, you decide when hospice is right for you. Hospice is covered by the Medicare Hospice Benefit at 100% with no out-of-pocket expense. Most private insurance plans also cover hospice.

When To Consider Hospice

No one should ever have to consider hospice care alone. Although hospice care is a difficult subject to bring up, it is an appropriate and healthy discussion to have and it is never too early. It is better to know your options and make an informed decision before your condition becomes serious.
